    Be warned🙄

That alone would stop me from buying from them, failure such as that shouldn't happen unless poor design or manufacturing. Even worse is that its a known fault and they still sell them.
    Cheers tt

Hmm, Torque Converter Technologies are local, that may well be the way I eventually go.

Another local I can highly recommend is Dominator/Autoflite Engineering in Thomastown.
Good blokes, spend some time explaining stuff tome that went straight over my head! .. and cheap.
I had to do all the dealings with them when brother's TD5 needed one a few months back.

Thanks for the references. Def avoiding OS businesses if I can. Interestingly ZF Aus were unable to supply parts for me. They referred me to Moto specs in Vic who were very helpful.

On the subject of prem failures a mates power stroke engine was replaced recently at a cost of near 40k due to a "common" fault concerning the injectors..so he was told. It's up for sale for 90k now as he wants out!

    New Front Brake Pads

I replaced the front brake pads this morning. On the driver's side I removed the top bolt and tried to swing the caliper away. No movement. I removed the bottom bolt. No movement. I finally managed to lever the carrier off. I was able to lever one of the pistons back, the other one would not shift. Great, I thought, a siezed piston. On a Sunday! Why me? '' 'cos you're here son, 'cos you're here." I managed to push back the caliper with a G clamp. As the stubborn one went in, the other one came out. Just like on the painful comdey shows of yesteryear. I then loosened the bolt that hold the hydraulic line to the caliper. Now I could push the piston in, without the other piston moving out. (Not a good idea) It took several tries to hget the carrier back on, as the inner most pad kept falling off. I had almost the same fun and games with the passenger side, except I put the bottom bolt back on. Much easier to re assemble. The old pads had maybe 4mm left.
I also removed the front RHS ABS connector, the one below the brake fluid resevoir. I spliced in a new cable. If this doesn't fix the three amigos, I'll have to replace the ABS sensor.
I also did a slight tyre rotation.

Thge brakes are now spongy. I have let air into the system. Next week I will bleed the brakes.
Now it is time for a nap.

I have dragged about 5t of trees away with my D2a and with the help of the winch i managed to cut 2 down without crashing them into the house or the shed.
I also hooked up a big branch of at least 500kg to one of the "Recovery Points" on my new rear bar and dragged it about 500m without ANY problems So these CAN be used for small jobs at least

Pulling Big stumps with the D2a using the winch was a lot of fun and it also gave the winch a workout
Now I have to clean up all the mess I made in the yard

I undo the bleeder when doing a pad change, that way the crap fluid gets pushed out of the caliper to waste, not back up the line. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?
