Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.
LROCV #1410
Replaced the rocker cover gasket and degreased.... hopefully no more oil on the driveway, road or anywhere I stop.... or it’s the rear main seal...boooooo!
Fitted the rear one.

BTW. You do not use a 12 pointed socket with an impact wrench. Just putting this out there.

Mine is having the long weekend off relaxing in the back yard under the winter Sun
A LR mechanic suggested we try this on my td5 which is showing 339K.
the ratio is 800:1 for 20 hours. So 100mls for a tank twice then 50 mls per tank thereafter. Well on a purely subjective basis the engine seems much quieter, smoother, less rattle and more powerful. Took it for a run of 250 klms loading up over Cunningham’s gap and ‘twas a joy to drive.
has anyone experience with this FTC? I plan to stop after the two treatments.
comments?
Not with a Td5, but I've seen it perform magic on a V8 Mack motor. CEM make good products.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
The smoother and quieter part comes from softening down the “bang”.
More power is a placebo in many cases - smoother often feels more grunty. Although if it is cleaning something up it may well improve power marginally.
And you need to be a little careful as some of them can be quite corrosive to engine bearings (due to blow by)
I've never run CEM, but the few tests I've done with a couple had one show up pretty adversely in oil testing, and it was from one of the majors. (BP DieselGo)
One I found that worked and didn't have any impact on oil test results was Redline RL2 which also contains a cetane booster and IIRC is Cummins approved for pump lubricity.
When I had to do a head gasket on the old 300Tdi the pistons were immaculate, but I haven't used it in years and don't know how available it is anymore.
