    North on Diggers Track

This morning a drive north on Diggers Track. I walked most of it the day before, there where a couple of sections that looked daunting. A half metre rock step and a tippy negotiation around very deep ruts.
In the car there was no problem. Barely noticed either of them.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

I did mine just like Rick explained, only I submerge the other end of the hose in clean brake fluid to stop air from entering the system. Generates such negative pressure that fluid is still coming out when I close the bleeders so air bubbles in the tube aren't a problem. I used 1.5L brake fluid doing it this way, but I was going for a complete colour change at each bleeder. Would use a nanocom if I had one.

While firm there is more free play in the pedal than other cars I've driven so thinking I might do more with the brakes soon.

Whilst doing a load of maintenance jobs i repaired the glow plug leads with heat shrink, which were cracked and breaking up. Nice easy job with the inlet manifold off.

I reckon I know this bit.
Was there with bro in his then new Td5. I has diff locks front and rear, but no CDL(non internals)
Struggled a little on the climb up a rock step, locked rear, no go, locked front too .. and all that happened was that either front axle or rear axle would spin up independently of each other .. so no upward travels.
Unlocked the front again, and a bit more juice, and then the traction control kicked in.
So we worked out first hand, how twin locked D2 with no CDL wasn't the good idea that the previous owner that fitted them thought they'd be.
I have the GPS log of the drive too, but I was having trouble with that version of Ozi, that shut itself down randomly .. and of course shut itself down at this point

The other one I remember, and looking back at the GPS log, was Amblers lane, near the camp site there, cross the creek. Another rock step where the lockers didn't really help.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

I have to admit how easy it was, with the CDL, and going to the RHS as much as possible. I thought it would be harder, traction control did not even kick in. I went up in low range second gear. Muddies with 25psi in the rear and 20 psi in the front. I think the Freelander 2 could get up that track, after what I've seen them do on Youtube..

I'm still leaning toward a less aggressive AT on these, e.g. Michelin's LTX Force, which would also work fine on trips to such places as Lake Eyre.

    We'll see.....
