Engine's out and awaiting timing chains guides, was originally pulled for the sump and rear main seal. Found some timing chain guide in the sump, front main seal is leaking too, leak around the vac pump think it's from the hose given the pump looks good, power steering is leaking badly from somewhere assuming it's a pipe cos it's gotten way worse since I moved it around.

Trying to give the engine bay a spring clean so ended up with the wiring loom pulled back out the way, going to clean and retape it where required (same with engine loom)

Starting to try and sort the ace system (had no pump when I bought it), is it normal to have a male male joiner in a ace hose? I know the replacements are 2 part but thought bthey joined to each other, need a replacement joiner cos the previous owner tapped one end to seal it with a bolt.

Seeing the turbo body will get up to say 600C at times, I reckon there is a real danger of the battery exploding if that close to the turbo. I don't think HCl would like it at say 200C. The water/Hcl in the end cell would almost certainly boil.

I really counsel against what you plan.

Get an Optima group 34 or a DIN66H , replace the turbo heat shield and polish it on the inside, make up another stainless or shiny metal barrier and place the battery at the other end of the cradle..

@all who put your friendly thoughts to my 2nd battery tray:

Thanks mates, not thinking that it would draw your very thoughtful ideas like that.

Definitely worth for a 2nd version to be done soon.

Well OK H2 so4 but you get the picture I hope.
Speaking of pictures I have attached one of my setup.
The hold down is a little untidy at the moment as I have modified it to accept a DIN66battery which is longer than the Optima so the tie down had to be moved to the outside.I thought that the Optima was failing but bought a cheapo tester which says it is healthy.
