What did you have to do to take the timing of?

Found a few chunks of timing chain guides in the sump when I took it off to swap the gasket so was putting new guides in.

    The ABS works!!

At the end of my street, there is a nice pretty section paved with red bricks. This morning I had to push the brake pedal hardish and the ABS kicked in. A thud thud thud and a ggrrrr from the pump.
And later I dashed out of the car to chck I had my phone and when I got back into the car, no drive, nothing, none of the gears worked, checked the transfer case, nothing. Radio was blaring away nicely. I had unknowingly stalled the engine!!

Got stuck in the paddock in deceptive mud What happened to your Discovery 2 today? (the thin like ice slippery stuff!!) Horsefloat and slope go well together What happened to your Discovery 2 today? These tyres do not handle mud as well as the proper Bridgestone ones did What happened to your Discovery 2 today? Took an hour to get car and float out with dads tractor providing some movement and an anchor for when slid sideways.

Did you try drop pressures first?
Those tyres don't look particularly capable in the mud, like my old Yokahama Geolanders.
Bbut drop the pressure and they did surprisingly well for an all terrain! I just hated them coz they got punctures too easily.

Floating on slick mud does nothing.
Higher pressure cuts easier, but once it’s filled the voids only RPM will clear the tread What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

    Front Ball Joints

Well I'm glad that job is over, driver side all done in 2 hrs passenger side took 5 but it was well worth the effort. Saved around $800 which will go to the front locker fund The steering is now smooth and precise and not like a series 2 Land Rover. Most physical job so far but straight forward with the right tools.

    Power Steering Fluid Escaping

Started engine to back out of driveway & power steering pump noisy. No noises previously. Cursory inspection reveals fluid leak in I suspect return line, as fluid is gathering on top of reservoir.
Bugger, back to Public transport and potential exposure to Covid until repaired. Will attempt to have new line fabricated.
Will again have to pressure wash concrete & remove stain
