Keen to see how it all work's out for you cos the decent replacement's aren't cheap. What is very cheap is the ebay knockoff's, I'd suspect one of those would be perfectly fine as a donor housing (I bought one to steal the level sensor off as that was the cheapest option)

SupporterObne tyre has a slow leak, sorry, had a slow leak. I used one of those tyre rpair things, it worked, almost broke the tool, but it was good practice on the spares spares spare. If I need this on the Canning Stock Route, or what ever, I am good to go.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

SupporterMine was genuine VDO pump n housing, no clips except at top of HP out under cap, it was loose but hose was hardened and tight as were all the other hoses which were push fits with no clips.
What I did was cheaper for me and has simplified the plumbing.
Bonus is it actually works so haven't got egg on my face (yet).

SupporterI was already running a cheap ebay jobbie for last 2 years, but it was squealing a bit last 12 monyhs, so I put in the original VDO that came with vehicle but it crapped the fuel level sender and was also squealing ( I believe my air bleed valve was the culprit after some experimenting) . So ended up with aftermarket one back in while waiting for the aeroflow pump to arrive, then spent last few months listening to the whine and having to keep tank above quarter or lottery if it started without bleed as I procrastinated doing the full high pressure mod.
I used the VDO as the donor housing with a spare fuel level sender salvaged from wreckers.
So far running it slowly out of fuel to see if it is all fixed, currently between last white line and red and starts instantly and no running out of fuel going up slopes.

SubscriberNot today, but start of the week, took both of mine ( lent one to a friend ) to a favourite spot for a camp, the "track" there prevents a lot from going.
Means a good spot is likely.D2manual2 stream.jpgD2 Auto stream.jpgStream.jpg
