Today I replaced the CV joint. I was unable to remove the hub from the CV joint. So I ordered a new CV joint. Followed the instructions, tapped the shft to seat it in the joint. There did seam to be a lot of splines left over. When I went to fit the hub and all into the axle I had a big gap. Those l;eft over splnes were not left over. I hit the shaft with a hammer to seat it. No movement until the 5th hit, when the CV joint dropped about the same length as the left over splines. More fun and games with the 32mm nut, the 490Nm nut, except the one that came with the CV joint was 35.86m, ok 36mm. The same for the nut that came with the hub. When did the size change? I had a spare 32mm nut and used that. I don't mind the size, but when you only have a 32mm socket, it is annoying.
There was the usual fun and games putting the caliper back on, I had a problem with the ABS plug, I could not push it fully home. I removed the catch can hoses to get a better grip, and noticed a slight collar on the plug. I was seating this correctly, I just didn't realise it.
I cleared the 4 amigos faults and went for a test drive, upto 100kph on the road to Geelong. I am it seems friendless, I couldn't be happier. I gave the car a wash, washed the seat covers and the floor mats. Now I need a nap. After 6 months the car is good to go.

Go where? I'm sure you'd find some friends in Queensland.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Used the first few days of holidays to get some maintenance done, replaced the injector seals and loom, also changed diff oils and transfer case oil. While I have the rocker cover off, I gave a quick sand blast and a coat of high temp paint.
Just need to finish fitting some new seat covers I bought a while ago, then it's ready for some holiday trips.
