Agree with the others , I've never had to replace more than one either, and I work on 2or 3 td5's a week , as previously mentioned it would be worth asking your mechanic if he is aware of the injector loom issue , its either that or someone has seriously messed up the bump clearances .

I just did a quick calculation ( nothing else to do ATM :-) and the one I have with the lowest k's ( have 2 , yes I know ) which is 250 000 k is around 180 000 000 times

Your right my calculation was too quick! I think times 5 would be right maybe 337.5 million is nearer the mark for 450,000Ks.

1 injector, average revs 2400 = 1200 times per minute x 60 minutes@ 100 k/ph = 72000 times per hour x 1000 = 72 000 000 times per 100 000 kilometres per injector that's probably conservative.
Next thing you know I'll be putting on one of those puffy rain jackets and tottering off to the nearest railway line with a camera and tripod waiting for engine number eleventy five to pass by..........is this what happens when you get older?

I used average revs of 2,500 to compensate for the shorter distances covered per rev in lower gears to get my 337.5 million.

At least you have a railway line to stand and watch at, I have to play golf!

And talking with an adenoidal voice and looking for the Western Ground Parrot doing it's mating dance.
Which of course only happens three days after a full moon when the temperature is above 28C unless it's a Tuesday, when the temp has to be below 30C etc. etc.
