I've always found in both my d1 and d2 that just under 2500rpm seems to be the sweet spot, it must be right on, or very close to peak torque of the engine as it just seems unstoppable! Admittedly, with the 265/75's it's almost 120kph so there's a it of a risk attached to it.
I don't like the idea of changing gearing to 3.75 or similar and then deciding down the track that I want to goto 255s or 285s (33 equiv) so I've been hoping that 411s would be bearable with the 32s as I'd prefer to gear first, and then up the tyre size, I feel that any bigger than 32 on stock gears would make the truck a right PITA to drive on or off road.
Current setup is boost @ Aprox 18psi, decat, de egr, 265/75 and lifted. Once u added on barwork etc it would be a slug on any bigger tyre I reckon.
In response to 2500rpm being too much, keep in mind that it is only 2.5L so not a huge engine, as a comparison my 2.6 petrol bravo does 3100 @ 110, so the revs aren't that high for the td5s capacity.
