Oil Leak from Oil Cooler Gasket?

    Hi guy's

Need your help with locating this oil leak. I've used the forum to help me narrow down where my TD5 may be leaking oil from but I don't know for sure.

Getting under it while its running I can see oil seeping down from behind the engine mount bracket on the LHS (exhaust side), I've checked the oil filters and what not, they're bone dry. There's no external coolant leak from what I can see, only oil dripping down over the sump and onto my damn driveway.

Using these pictures I grabbed from a Google search, this is the only place I can think it would be leaking from. Would anyone else agree on this?

Also where the centrifugal bolts onto the housing which is where one of my leaks was, just looking at your engine mount it has oil residue on it so while you have everything off replace all O rings and gaskets.

Check your engine mounts while you have the stuff off also easy to replace water pump if needed.

Most likely the o ring in front of that pic, where the oil rotor housing bolts to the oil cooler ,no need to remove the oil cooler , but easy if you move the a/c compressor forward to access the 3 bolts for the rotor housing, undo the 2 nuts for the oil return to sump and you can helicoil the stripped threads that are the result of butchers changing the rotor filter unless you are lucky , order the gasket and o ring before you start the job . the o ring goes flat and leaks ( common)

There is a gasket on the bottom of the centrifugal filter housing for the drain pipe replace that because there is one bolt that is a pain to get to when everything is on

Just to clarify again, those photos we're downloaded from a Google search to illustrate where I think the oil is coming from.

Thanks guy's. I figure since I can get the o-rings and gaskets from RoverParts for approx $80 so I may as well replace them all while I'm at it since it'll be cheap (fingers crossed nothing else pops up in the process).

If you are pulling the oil cooler anyway , ( don't see why because it would be leaking coolant as well as oil if it was from there) you will need to remove the turbo as well , also replace the little coolant hose of the back of the oil cooler .

This is what it ended up being, did it without pulling the turbo as I didn't have a new gasket for it. With a few socket extensions and arm twisting I got it done.

Thank you all for your advice.
