    Thanks for the replys,

I think best hope is to wait hopefully for a low km engine, it would be a shame to sent it to the wrecking yard as it is still in fantastic condition,

Reading Robison Service blog it take me back to my teenage days with Mazda Rotaries where they were stacked 10 high at the tip with bugged engines

I have a D1 V8 engine sitting here if you want it. It was running when laid up.

I have an 01 4.0 V8 complete with a blown head gasket at about 60,000k after a rebuild from British Offroad - so new tow cam, lifters, timing gear (and chain) etc is only 60,000k old and block, crank, pistons etc 200,000k (have all the receipts). It was assembled with stretch bolts despite me asking whether head studs would be better. Knowing what I know now I would head stud heads very time after they have come off. It was a very strong 4.0 but unfortunately it blew the gasket at number 5. I have put in a 4.6 but had I known it was only a blown gasket I would have kept the 4.0.

I am in 2 minds about what to do with the 4.0 (thinking of putting it in oil and saving it for rainy day or selling it). It is at my mechanics at present.

    Cheers
