It could be the stalk itself. That was the case in my D1 with the same symptoms as you
The central locking is now not working and I think this has caused the turn indicators to stop working. The dash lights work but the external light are not flashing. Checked the globes and all are OK. Has anyone got any ideas. The buttons on the key work and a week ago they used to lock the doors just wouldn't unlock them so this was done by the key. Oh its a disco 2

Not sure about the other stuff but I had an indicator relay hanging part way out of its connection RHS next to the steering wheel where the internal fuse box is
Regards Ollie
X2 the indicator stalk as a possibility. I had some problems last year which eventually were traced to the stalk and poor connections within.
Cheers
Steve
As long as the dash lights are working dont bother with the stalk cos it means the command gets through it and the BCU sends the signal further, the output from BCU goes to the instrument pack and to the IDM(inegrated circuit in the interior fusebox) which manages the relays(there are two of them, one for each side so quite unlikely to be both dead)...check fuse F14 in engine bay fusebox and if it's good you should try with other fusebox cos the IDM is involved in the central locking too, this fusebox is very complex and used to suffer from corrosion and dry joints also the IDM is quite sensitive to moisture.... see the IDM in the attachment, the only way to rule it out is by replacing the fusebox with known good one and if you end up doing this disconnect the battery first then after the swap put ignition on II and leave it so 5 minutes as the digital data comunication link between the IDM and BCU to be re-established or it might end up immobilised

Have tested all the fuses and it did work about 1 week ago and so did the central locking and now both do not work which makes me think it is connected. The battery on the fob was tested at 3.3volt so its ok and the light works and when I either lock or unlock the indicator lights both work on the dash. but a s I said nothing on the outside not even hazard switch works so I am hoping its both relay fried. Will test the circuit tomorrow. A pain as I really cant drive it safely. I'm with you sieffafery as they flash on the dash so the flasher unit should be working just not going any further.
It's no "flasher unit" in a D2, both central locking and indicators are managed by the IDM...simplest(maybe not cheapest) way would be to rule it out by replacing the fusebox before you start chasing other faults cos it's very suspect, i attach you two relevant sections of diagrams to see:

Well as I spent a little time on my Disco this weekend I have now found the problem with the indicators as well as the central locking as well as the rear wiper washers and heaps more. I really don't know how it was running. Posting some pics of the fuse box ADM. Thanks again sierrafery for you advice and also have ordered a Nanacom so if anyone in my area needs assistance just email. Also I am a qualified diesel mechanic just haven't been at the spanners for a long while. Have been repairing phones and computers for the last 16 years but want to retire pretty some so might have some free time soon, if the wife doesn't put me to work around the house.
Was you able to fix it from that condition?

No as some of the tracks fell off which are hard to see in those pics. Had ordered another unit as well as BCU to cover my backside. Most of these computers are before my time in the trade so I am enjoying reading and learning how they work and sometime don't.
