Roof bars for James Baroud roof tent

I've just ordered a James Baroud roof top tent for my D2. I'm looking at getting a set of Rhino bars but I want to keep the whole setup looking sleak. I've looked at other threads and haven't seen any consensus on what setup will clear the existing factory rails. Will I need the 280mm upright setup with the heavy duty bars or is there some other quality sleak setup that doesn't leave a huge gap between the roof and the rails. Aero bars etc??

Hi mate. Don't want to teach you to suck eggs bit you know the roof limit is 50kg on road and 30kg off. Now that is absurd given what the narrower Puma is rated at. But in a rollover an insurer might drop anyone with more than the manufacturers rated weight like a hot chop. Each rail with bracket is 5kg.

    Cheers

The aero bars don't make it any "sleeker" with the RoofTent on.
The step in the D2 roof always looks like like a lot of clearance at the front.
RL280 brackets from memory are the go. Anything shorter will rub on the side of the roof.

I recall the earlier mentioned load limit related to use of the existing roof rails, I could be mistaken. Wouldn't be anyone with a racked D2 within this if 50kg is the limit.

50kg is with LR Approved racks which would likely include gutter mount. If you want to see some inconsistencies see Rhinos site. Enter the D2 as the vehicle and it will show the 3 bar system rack as 100kg limit. Then read fitting instructions...max weight is vehicle manufacturers limit or Rhino whichever is the lower...so 3 bar with Large Mesh Rhino basket is overloaded off road without anything in it and on road you can carry a candle. Crazy stuff.
    Cheers
