    Disco2 rim width

Any one know what the rim width is?

The tyre is a standard 235/70R16.
I'm just wondering what the max size of tyres, muddies I can fit.

    also is profile 75 ok?

    Thanks

Rim width on D2 16 inch wheels is AFAIK always 7 inch.
If the rims have been bought second hand be aware that 38A rims are 8 inch, as I found out by having to buy 255.70x16 rather than my preferred 245.75x16.
It should be stamped on the rear of the rim .

I have found on RRC and hoped to on D2 the ideal is 245.75x16

Just adding to Phillip I have had 235/70/16; 245/75/16 and 265/70/16 on my D2. I wouldnt go bigger than these larger sizes for what I do (ie 30.7 in or therabouts) even with my 4.6 high compression motor. I tow heavy loads and don't want it geared too high. I have a 2in lift and the just under 31in tyres look fine. Cheers

There is also an 8" X 16 option fitted to some D2's.

    Factory you had 4 options.

    16x7 steel (235/70-16)
    16x7 alloy (235/70-16)
    16x8 alloy (255/65-16)
    18x8 alloy (255/55-18)

The biggest tyre you can fit without modification to the body is 265/75-16, and they need to be on standard offset wheels (+57), but be aware it will throw your gearing a good way out and make it a bit of a pig to drive (I threw 3k worth of diffs at it to counter this...).

My D2 had 16x8 inch alloys, and it was only a "base" model, so they are not all that uncommon.
    Cheers .........

My D2a came with 16x8 255/65 ... Classic Country Pack

The 8" rims are marginal or too wide for 247/75 tires ... But 265/70 are the same diameter.
