10 pumps of the brake pedal within10 seconds disables TC on the td5 Defender,
Might be the same on D2's?
I have decided that i would install a momentary "on" push button switch into the SLABS Blue/Black wire that I cut when i installed CDL activation. Cutting the wire ensured the TC was always enabled just like when it left the factory. With CDL engaged now if I want to disable the TC I can bring the D2 to standstill > switch off ignition > hold the push button down > and switch on ignition > release the button and continue with TC inhibited.
The "momentary on" push button retains the default situation of TC always enabled and for me that'll be for all regular dry terrain but now i have another option for the slippery cow paddocks, snow, mud and sand dunes.... when the TC might be more of a hinderance than a help.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
This disables ABS aswell . Which i feel is a good thing for some off road down hill decent`s in my opinion.![]()
I agree, ABS off road is not always helpful and pre D2 ownership I always used to pull the ABS fuse on my Subaru when going off road. Some times it helps to have driver braked wheels ploughing and gathering gravel or snow ahead of them and slowing forward motion. When you want to STOP and then only to have the ABS intervene by "modulating" the braked wheels it is not always helpful - don't ask me how i learned that
Back to the D2 - apparently the ABS is not actually disabled by inhibiting TC but it operates at a reduced capacity.

If you want to disable them all a switch on the pump relay coil's circuit is needed then only the EBD is partially retained which is not bad all the other functions are completely off

I found this in another AULRO thread. I’ve heard this before. Does anyone know if this is the case?
“Firstly, get the centre diff lock. It transformed my D2 in all situations. Secondly, once you have the CDL, if you start the car with it engaged, you will automatically disengage the traction control and abs. Just remember to restart the car when you get back onto the blacktop so that you have re-activated the abs....pretty important for your, and your familys safety!
I actually find that the combination of the CDL and TC works extremely well so maybe try things before you just ignore the benefits that TC can give you.”

CDL plus TC is great.

......If you do the “slabs wire” mod TC will always be on. Go herewww.discovery2.co.uk/Factory Diff Lock to gain an understanding on it all
NB: the slabs wire mod plus the TC INHIBIT mod allows you to toggle between both modes without having to disengage the CDL.
