    R380 cooler

Hi all, i'm sure here's the best place to ask, i want to order this: Ashcroft Transmissions they say it comes in front of the radiatior but where exactly, near the electric fan or at the bottom and will it fit behind the grill without any problem? eventually can somebody put a pic as i can see where it lives please?

Hi, here in Aust we scored a factory cooler which sits in front of the radiator just below the intercooler.
It mounts using a tab on the radiator on the left side and a self tapping screw into a tab on the right hand side.
Id be surprised if anyone here can provide you with a pic of an Ashcroft cooler.

I get Ashcroft are really good gear, but 245GBP nearly $500AUD for one? Plenty of speed shops have similar for sub $200AUD and even sub $100 or Ebay. After all its only a cooler and a matter of cutting the existing tube cooler if as on Aust cars or some piping from gearbox.

Thanks for that....tell me a bit more please, i can get some oil cooler from other modell but how i make the connections to the box? off course that the oil circuit holes are blanked now but that's all i should do? connect the cooller with some pipework to them and job done, that's all? where on the gearbox casing are those plugs to be removed?

Being Euro spec you will have a blank where the cooler thermostat fits.

    Part '20' in the photo.

It's just a case of then getting lines made to screw into the thermostat and connect to a cooler.

If you've got an updated 'manual' intercooler a factory gearbox cooler will not fit in the factory position (Below the factory intercooler). You would need to make your own brackets and mount in the airflow. You would need to do this regardless with the Ashcroft kit.

This is what I put on the Auto,, 1/2 inch inlet/outlet to match the rest of the lines
I mounted it as far forward as possible to allow airflow around it.
Does the manual have an internal pump?
or does it all work by convection?
    from memory around $150AU,,

I have the factory R380 thermostat housing here.
I dont know what shipping from Aust, NT, 0870 would be to you, but if you check that out, i will pack it up and send to you for whatever the shipping is.
Then just get yourself an aftermarket cooler from a local auto parts shop as others have suggested.
I reckon its the adaptor that you are being hit so hard for.
