When you work out the air required to make an engine breath, then work out what sized compressor - and more importantly - the HP required to drive that volume, you will soon realise it's total bollocks.
Even a small engine revving hard will use 80 CFM of air - if I could make a compressor to do that whos current draw was 3 amps, I'd be a millionaire...
Do you think a 3 amp, 12 volt motor can deliver anywhere near the output of what a professionally designed and engineered turbine spinning at 10's of thousands of RPM can?
I'll leave you to work out the rest.

It's a bilge blower from a boat. They are used to ventilate the fuel vapors and other nasty gasses from the bilges in your small inboard engine boat. I know small cause anything larger than 30' would use a 24v one not 12v. There is no way they would even supply enough air to even make any differnce at idle let alone any engine load.
BUT it sort of looks a little bit cool :)
I imagine once your turbo spins up so much air will be dragged through that toy fan it will spin itself to destruction. I would also wonder if spinning faster then designed to the motor will act as a generator and produce more than 12volts .
They use one of these on a tdi200 Defender Winch truck (listen carefully) and it goes off. Needless to say, on a winch truck they always run 24v though anything designed for 12v.
