    Chassis Welding D2a Td5

    Hi there,

Has anyone done/had done the repairs to the chassis in the front and rear of the vehicle.

These are described in Tech Bulletins 044 (rear) and 086 (front). They need holes drilled and welding done to secure chassis elements.

I'm budgeting time/$ to get this done as I'm pretty sure I've goth both (issues).

Wondering if anyone has a rough idea of the cost of these fixes?

    cheers!

Yes have done this. It took me about 45mins from start to finish and it is very easy to do. Cleanliness and proper material prep and a decent MIG are all you need.
Best to take it to a body works with the printout of the tech bulletins. I've only done the front repair.

Ripper - thanks mate - much appreciated!

It's a long shot (worth an ask IMO) but do you have any recommendations for a shop in Canberra you'd trust?

    cheers!

Sorry i can't help with that but ask around for a well regarded accident repair place you don't want anyone to just tack it together...

Sorry for the slow reply - been away.

I went to the Land Rover TOPix site.

    Home | TOPIx

IIRC I paid a fee for a day or a few days, downloaded everything related to my vehicle, checked the recalls, etc and then let it expire.

    cheers!
