You might have been misinformed, Britpart is not a manufacturer of parts they are a parts distributor. They can source parts from all over the place and manufacturers. They have varying qualities, the have the budget stuff and they also have the O.E and Genuine stuff that is boxed under their Branding. We've received deliveries of a Genuine Denso Alternators that were sent to us in a Britpart box, the Alternator inside had the whole Denso label package from our UK wholesalers We have received Genuine ZF power steering boxes arrive in Britpart boxes. Labeled Contitech Air bags in Britpart boxes and Bearmach boxes.

Some UK web sites even have Britpart stuff advertised as LR workshop approved.

Yes, there are some cheap quality Britpart rubbish avail, but price often dictates that. Its a case of weeding through the rubbish.

..... thanks Mario for clarifying that - yes it's easy for we consumers to come to the wrong conclusion when a part you're after is listed as either LR Genuine or Britpart OEM. Maybe it should say LR OEM Part supplied through Britpart.

PS: I think most of us accept that an OEM part and a LR Genuine Part would be both from the same LR authorised manufacturer/s - many of us are a bit worried (from past experience) when we read Britpart OEM

Here we have an example, Genuine Contitech Germany SLS airbag Disco 2, in a Bearmach box. Bearmach is a parts sourcer not a manufacturer.
We are very particular on what we buy and supply.

not sure that the second pic was ideal for making your point mario
the one with 'warning' in big red letters and 'Britpart' under it.

FIXED... after pulling the radiator, IC and oil cooler completely out and testing everything before putting it all back in, it seems to me that my initial problem was in fact in the quick release coupling not being secured properly (my fault :-( ) It seemed to click on properly in the first place but obviously did not. As I put it all back together I had a little more room to work in which aided me in getting the fitting to couple properly. Still very hard to connect though!!. If you ever have to reconnect these fittings, I would advise wrapping them loosely in cotton rag before taking for a test run. If they are not properly coupled and do let go, then at least you wont spray auto fluid everywhere.

    .
    Nothing sinister on the warning:

The warning is actually telling people that incorrect fitting by novices causing the bags to break, etc is not covered by warranty, incorrect install techniques not following Land Rover workshop procedures .
You can stuff up a new air bag quite easily if you have it twisted etc and try to inflate it. Also tampering with the valve, which has a painted dot on it, if this is broken they know it has been tampered with my un authorised persons.

Here's and example of what Dunlop puts on theirs.
** Failure to comply with the instructions provided by this sheet will invalidate your warranty! **

A lot of would be mechanics think they know and damage things on installation.

When we order our stock we specify Contitech and that's what we receive. If you buy from us we supply Conti, we don't substitute. What ever box it comes in or is un boxed, if it has Contitech made in Germany embossed on the bag it's the genuine article. Some times we remove them from the boxes to save the customer freight costs, so you wouldn't be the wiser if it came in this or that box as it is of no real concern. You order Conti from us that's what you get.
    Cheers, Mario

Unfortunately that doesn't help those who only get a choice of Genuine, Bearmach or Britpart when ordering from the UK suppliers which is my biggest issue. I realise that's not a problem that concerns you but it is for many of us who like to import $1000 worth of parts in one hit.

Always a risk you Take when buying overseas, the return costs to you are a lot.
