    New Head Gaskets

My D2 is not overheating but not as cool as I would like and it has just started losing coolant. I like my D2. I reckon they are a great blend of on and offroader. So I'm going to do it properly. Assuming the deck of the block is nice and even I will go Cometic MLS gaskets with Vitron finish and ARP head studs. I will use Loctite 515 on upper manifold gaskets. I will use 3 Bond red silicon on the valley ends. I will use GM head stud sealant on the studs. I plan going to the upper range of the recommended torque for the ARP studs. New coil packs and leads. New convoluted tube over all the wires. I will extend breathers. I will replace radiator... I plan on keeping the truck...

So yet to get heads off but can now see leak from front of passenger side head and leak from rear I think.

    Engine looks clean though.

    Cheers

I'm sure you already know my thoughts on most of that,,
Dont use normal plastic convoluted tubing, there must be a better option, on my green D2 after the long pull up Gibralture Range(which i reckon stuffed that 4L) the tubing was brittle as ****, one day good next day falling off,
It must be really only for water?

Oh, and MLS gaskets need flat surfaces! So no metal scrapers!

Pedro I am excited. I reckon this 4.6 is sweet. I think I know what has gone wrong but I will wait and see and post up tomorrow. It is attention to detail that make a good build up. I won't be gouging into the deck. Cheers

I am going to assume those headers are lightweight pipe....
All i was after is underbonnet temps,, i doubt an RV8 would generate enough heat to melt cast iron?
