    Heater core replacement

    OK, brains trust members......

    Happy 2017 to all.

What technique is used to get the pipe flanges and the core receivers to sit flush enough to get the pipe clamps seated correctly?

ATM, I can't get the pipe with oring installed and the core receiver close enough together - very &%^^%^ frustrating on a hot day.

never use new orings, Always use the old orings. just keep pushing them together. never use the clamp to try pull them together.

^ err no. 😮. ALWAYS use the new o rings. Use rubber grease and wiggle and push. Clamps are only to be used after the pipes are seated as mentioned. It IS difficult...

    oooh aaah

    Oops...stood on a toe there...

Thanks Justin. I'll just perservere! But I'm thinking of a "draw together" type clamp arrangement which might aid in my quest.

Yes, new Orings, yes a bit of vas for lube, but my anatomy just fails to be faithful to the task.

    Cheers
