    Key disaster

    Hey chaps

I've had a disaster with my only key for my D2 snapping (yeah I know, I should have got a spare along time ago). First of couldn't find the broken piece but was able to get the key code from Landrover Australia and my local locksmith cut me one up, only prob was that the new key looked nothing like the old and doesn't work.

I ended up finding the broken bit and took it to the Locksmith who cut one.
The new key opens the doors but doesn't start the ignition.

I still have the shell and can open the car OK with the remote.

Local SA dealer quoted me $525 for one replacement

    Anyone got any ideas

    Key disaster

I ordered these off EBay. Circuit board from old key goes inside, get blank key cut off old key. Easy. $20 or so.

Put new key into old shell. Car needs chip in shell to energise pickup in ignition barrel to immobilise car.

Get the key cut and transfer the electronics to the new key.
and, this a whole new key with the electrics, just program the new key with a Nanocom.

I ordered 1 from Almalmagated Locksmiths in Brisbane. Even paying freight was cheaper than any other option. Then I took the key to Triumph who coded it quite cheap. Cheaper than PCB quoted. No issues now.

I'm referring to the D2 all in 1 key
