    Lumpy steering

In the process of wrecking my sons 2a I swapped over his old man emu suspension including the steering damper to mine.It seemed to work fine until I took my fridge and toolbox(about 100 kgs) out of the back. At low speeds the steering now feels like it is Pulsating, like working in stages and a bit heavy. I also swapped over his bull bar and winch.I realize the balance is a lot different than before but it does not seem right. Any ideas.

Hi John, what parts did you actually swap?
A member on this forum recently bought an adjustable panhard rod for his lifted D2A, he bought one for a Discovery 2 some where and he found it was too short for adjustment. After talking to me about his problem, and some investigation it revealed that the pan hard rod for the D2A is a different part number to the one used on the D2. He returned the said panhard rod and swapped it for another adjustable one that suited the D2A and problem was fixed.
I think the D2a adjustable one was about 70mm longer

Remove the damper and see if problem persists.

Has front ride height increased or decreased? Change in height will move axle left or right along the arc of the panhard rod.

And yes, panhard rods of D2 and D2a are different lengths.

I just changed the springs, shocks and steering damper. Am I supposed to do more than that.

Maybe the donor springs were lifted height springs ie +2 inch and yours were standard height, hence the increase in height.

I would suspect the steering column lower section universal joints.
