    Td5 harmonic balancer, aftermarket options

    Hi all, the harmonic balancer on my 2003 disco td5 has the dreaded clunking noise (Landrover mechanic also confirmed it). I fell off my chair when I learnt of the replacement cost. Has anyone had any positive experience with aftermarket alternatives?

    I'm in a similar situation. The powerbond ones seem to get good reviews if you don't fancy the $1000+ cost of the Toughbond one

    The power bond ones are often advertised as by sellers as Dayco.
    Dayco bought out the powerbond company or power bond make them for Dayco can't remember the story.
    There are many variances in price for the same product. for 350 -500 .
    We no longer sell them due to pricing for wholesale.

    Just got one from Repco (Dayco stockist), they could do it for $400.

    What was the cost to have a genuine one? I had one done 6 or so months ago and I dont remember the cost being too crazy.
