    last night i plugged that hose and took it for a run. no difference. thanks though.

    I tried this tonight with some "start ya bastard".I could get the engine rpm to budge. never the less i feel that the only way to totally rule out vacuum leaks is to replace the gasket that i "bodged" and also go one step further and replace all the manifold-injector o rings, these are on order.
