Ashcrofts also have the CDL actuator kit also, so it looks factory.
It works on a cable system that replaces the Hi -Low cable setup up. Having said that the Old D1 system used linkages to do this, you can retrofit a link system from a d1 if you remove all the brackets and linkages.,
I'd love to have it wired to one of the blanks on the dashboard surround

If you can get a factory linkage that is the best solution IMHO.
They came in D2A 2003-05 only so you have to be quick.
Usual ask is about $500.
I was able to get one from a wrecker in Melbourne who even threw in the correct sticker and an auto shift lever for under $500.
Try Outback 1 who wrecks D2s constantly.
I don't know why everyone seems to think you need the internals as you said you had them, so you have an EU2 99-2001 then.
