Lack of power/oil in ecu plug

Hi everyone - I'm a very new discovery 2 td5 owner. I'm having issues with a lack of power. The car really struggles on hills, and even on the flat will only go to about 80km/h. I did a stall test and it got to just under 2000rpm indicating reduced power. I have found there was oil at the ecu plug - reading this forum am I right in thinking I need to replace the injector harness? Would that be causing these symptoms? I did clean off the connectors to see if it made any difference but no joy.

There's other issues here. I'd look at fuel (pump, regulator) or turbo areas (actuator, modulator)your power is way down. Worth cleaning ecu and look at replacing injector harness. Also, the oil that has wicked into the engine harness takes some time to come out.
See if you can someone with a Nanocom to log your vehicle and post here for analysis.

Thanks. I guess I'll start with a new injector harness and go from there. Will the oil have damaged to ecu? Anybody with a nanocom near Richmond NSW?!

I have recently had the same issues. Replaced the injector harness with a new one and also sealed the connections with additional sealant, still no difference. I tried cleaning the engine loom with the metho trick, to no avail, so now I'm waiting for a new engine loom to arrive as I have about 15 years worth of oil in my engine loom. Will see how that goes.

Before it gets to that, there are some other tricks you can try. As mentioned check the turbo wastegate for sticky-ness and also the fuel pump.

Try by passing the boost modulator hoses to eliminate that .

I clean my plug by spraying in carby cleaner and blowing it out with the air compressor. I do the ecu, plugs and wire ends just to b safe

So I should preface this by saying I know very little about cars, and the majority of my mechanical knowledge has come from this forum...! I had a look at the wastegate, it was quite stiff but I could move it. I then looked at the wastegate modulator - the bottom hose which was supposed to go to the intercooler intake was completely missing, and the steel hose fitting on the intercooler tube had been blanked off with a screw?! Also, the large rubber hose on the right of the intercooler had come off. I put this back on, bypassed the waste gate modulator (as I didn't have another hose to connect it as it should be) and the car is now a rocket ship by comparison! Having never driven one before, I'd naively thought it was slow because it was a diesel.... the question is, why would the goses have been removed and blanked off?!
