Hi I have 275/75/18 on stock 18x8 rims. I have like 3mm of rub on one rear tyre on the outside but I think that's a worn wats link bush

Are you running AT or MT?

Do you have a photo of your d2 with those tyres? Any issue running those tyres?

    Cheers. Gus

    Running BFG k02s in 235/85r16, with a 2" lift.

I think it works out to 32.5" and no rubbing/cutting, full articulation.

How does it drive on road with the 235's vs, say, 245/75's ?
Is the reduced steering response, etc with the taller sidewall noticeable ? (asks he who's been running 255/85's on a Deefer for years...)

Hmmm, can't comprehensively review as haven't had them on for long.

But I can only compare to the stock rubber that was on there when I purchased her.

Can't say I've notice a loss in steering response. But tc light has blinked on a couple of times since the new tyres were on - not sure if because tyres are skinnier or new or maybe I just feel more confident in putting my food down. Haha

Would like to go wider by a size and see how we go next time

Rick i run 265/75/16" mud tyres on mine the only difference i notice is the speedo error and slight change in performance no difference in handling characteristics what so ever

Ta Chris, I wouldn't expect too much different with 265/75's either, ran them on both Patrol's the ex had, but I remember Slunnie commenting on the difference between 255/85's and 285/75's.
OD is the same, but the difference in aspect ratio had the 255's moving around a lot more in the carcass and that affected response.

I was prepared to put up with that in the Deefer, but I'm looking forward to the less compromised road handling of the D2.
Really looking forward to less wind/road noise too. (One thing I've enjoyed in the BT50 on a trip, it's far less tiring even though I prefer driving the Deefer with it's better driving position)
I must be getting old! Biggest tyre with 2" lift

235/85/16 also fit on standard height suspension with no rubbing so no need for a lift.

When I had my D2 & was more in to hard 4x4'ing I had a set of Simex JT2's as an offroad set on standard D2 alloys.

Used to fit ok but would rub on the front of the rock sliders in full compression & hard lock.

Was amazed they fitted as they were nearly 34" tyres.

Awesome off road, terrible on road.
    Cheers
