    camel cut

Hey guys, just after some advice on camel cutting your rear guards & doors so that the wheel arches look the same height. What do you do and how do you cut the door without destroying it. My wheels stick out of the guards, so i'de like to raise the rear guards and put flares on them and open up the rear arches.
    Cheers.

2mm cutting discs on an angle grinder, mask up the panels and use the flares to mark the outline then the cut line is about 20mm below that.
Use some tape to hold the flares in place while marking them, you wont need to do the camel cut if you are fitting flares.

My understanding of a camel cut is to just clear the bodywork at the lower rear corner of the arch. Cutting the complete arch and fitting flares is a different thing. Rear arches done on my old D1.

    Hi David!

I've been keepin an eye on these flares on ebay but there are a few online sites that can supply to your door.

I've seen them in the $400-500 aud mark so not something I have very high on my list to do as functionality vs investment points aren't high.

    HI! Lyhoon95
Thanks for info I did look on flea bay but could not find any and at those prices also won't be high on my list either - unless I take out a mortgage HA! HA!
But I must say they really do look very good though
    Thanks Mate

Have only heard bad reports of the terrafirma flares. If going plastic, go for flatdog (about $350 landed to your door), or LRA if you want quality
