i'm up to this stage of tear down

do i need to remove the rocker covers to get the plenum out? ive removed all the plenum bolts but it's not moving

also how do you remove the rocker covers? there are 4 bolts on each, 8mm, but i can only access two with a spanner. the other two i can reach with spanner or socket

i worked it out. the rocker cover bolts need a a 12 spline 8mm deep socket.
    had to go borrow one.

the plenum just needed more elbow grease

i'm trying to work out those 4 inlets.
there are 12 in total. and the outer ones (1,2 & 7,8 ) are a funny colour and its the same colour as the insides of the water pump. so i'm assuming coolant ran though those 4 inlets????
the coolant was drained 12 months ago, no i'm not that surprised about rust.

The first 2 and the last 2 "Ports" on the block are for water and the inner 8 ports are to supply air to each of the cylinder's, That's why they are that colour
