I have one on my 4l d2. Haven't had any problems with it and haven't noticed any change in performance or economy.
Hi all,
Looking at having a Safari R Series snorkel (cannot get the heavier duty one for D2) fitted. I have done a fair bit of searching and cannot see where any Petrol owners of 4.0 have complained of power/torque loss through using such a device. The 4.6 is only marginally bigger so hopefully should be fine. I do like to rev it though ().
Any petrol owners who can give me feedback?
Cheers

I only fitted mine a few days ago so I can't comment on performance or economy yet.
I did however bust off one of the clips on the top of the air box So I had to get a new one which arrives tomorrow![]()
is there a difference in the size of the air intake/MAF between the 4.0 and 4.6 ?

Thanks Gents. Same diameter MAF at present. I worked out flow and the TD5 is about 400 CFM at 4500rpm and the 4.6 is about 350cfm at 5800rpm so should be fine given that the R series Safari is for both TD5 and V8 (see http://india.donaldson.com/en/engine...ary/065857.pdf ).
Cheers
