Never feel you have to justify the cost of the Evo. It is like an insurance policy, and even better if you hide it down low and use it in instrument mode - particularly for an accurate coolant temp gauge, and with a settable warning. I have mine attached to the underside of the right hand ashtray with a small riveted alum bracket, and it stays there permanently. Out of the sun and away from most prying eyes down there.
