Hmm... no answers. I have the same questions. Anyone going to chime in?
Can anyone point me in the direction of some detailed how to's, cautions and special notices for removing the body off the chassis a D2 in order to do a body swap?
I have had the body off on two Disco 3]s to replace engines and rebuild etc but I am looking out for the bewares and cautions of doing similar with the D2.
I think the D3 was designed and laid out a bit more with body removal in mind (ie plug and loom connection/disconnections etc) but i would just like to draw on the collective wisdom of the forum and anyone elses experience with the D2.
Thanks in anticipation

Oh well, it's only a parts car, so maybe I'll go ahead and put up a tute myself.

Maybe its taken them so long to swap they have fallen off the perch and haven't finished. Seriously I think it would be one extensive exercise
Start with a list of what needs to be disconnected. The engine and drive train stays on the chassis, so
undo heater hoses, plug hoses and connectors.
Steering column
Undo radiator, inter-cooler, gearbox cooler mounts. So remove grill first, then fan, electric connections to AC fan
Disconnect electrical connections to engine,
Remove the coolant reservoir from its mount on the body.
Disconnect abs connections at hubs
Disconnect fuel line(s)
Disconnect gear box/ transfer case linkages and cables
disconnect clutch pipe pipe at master cylinder end.
Disconnect brake lines at wheels.
Remove bolts holding body to chassis.
Remove suspension components, radius arms, Watts linkage
remove breathers, or can these be left in situ and carefully threaded out?

Ahh forgot about those. The SLS needs attention as well.
I guess remove the PS/ACE reservoir from the body. The mechanical links from the ACE actuators and the mechanical links for the SLS.
Disconnect the air intake from the air box, and the pipe to the vacuum pump.
It might help to have pipes to connect to the heater core so that you can keep coolant in the core, stop it drying out, like wise on the engine side plug those pipes/hoses.
Simple enough, when do we, I mean you start?
