    Paranoid now

I have been having overheating problems (TD5 Disco) but the 'American Solution' seems to have done the trick BUT!

I seem to have to top up the coolant every couple of days. It only takes about 1800ml to have it right to the top bled and motor running. The tank is quite hard to see through so I am unsure of the level prior to top up.

Am I being paranoid or is just under two litres too much?

    Regards

    Mike

If you're consistently losing coolant it's either leaking somewhere externally or it's being burnt. Sorry to say it

Even paranoid people have real enemies. If it's not on the ground under the car, as Disco Muppet says, it's getting burnt.

Edit: Or on the floor under the carpet.....

Whatever. If it isn't a head gasket now it soon will be if you don't sort it quick.

1800ml every couple of days? You don't need to be paranoid you need to accept that there is a problem.

I get paranoid putting 100ml in every 6 months or so.

    That's a bold statement Johntins.

I just pulled my head off yesterday so if you intend on doing yours yourself i'm can tell you a few pitfalls i found while doing it, the fuel cooler is the "Devils work" on a Td5 that's for sure.
