little bit off track but I recently bought a set of 4 alloys and tyres off a Brisbane company company called 'happy tyres'.

they are 8x17 ford ranger xlt rims and 'Wndforce' 265/65x17 a/t tyres (made in china, where Bridgestone 697's are made).

I carried my old spare but after 6 mths I am so happy with these tyres I just bought another rim and tyre to make the set even.

they are better on the hard than the bridgestones and so far cannot fault them in the bush and I'm shortly about to go back into the SA desert for another couple of weeks.

the fronts DONT throw stones into backs like the bridgestones do and they still look new after 10k.

just thought I'd throw this up because many members don't believe that the tyres branded like these are any good and cant see past the heavily advertised brands.

btw...total cost 5 alloy rims and tyres $1160.

I have these All Terrains on a 16 inch rim and the Windforce Mud Terrains also on a 16 inch rim.
Good tyres at a good price.

I just had a look at the prices for the "Windforce" tyres and they are practically giving them away.
Are they any good and what sort of mileage are we looking at?

My D2a HSE has been running on 16 x 8" Dynamic steel wheels for the last 50,000km without issues. Ride quality is softer than 18" wheels.

I am running Hankook Dynapro A/T 265/60R18 on my D3. Great tyre at about $300 a piece.
