    D2a TD5 towing

Hi am new to towing with an auto but found applesauce's thread on towing an interesting read. So finally got the boat (just over 1 ton) hooked up to the disco and was trying a few different ways of using the auto. Found the best way was to keep it in drive rather than 3rd it just seemed to stay locked easier. It runs around 2225 rpm at 100kph which I found a nice easy speed to cruise at. Around town 60 - 70 Kph it just didn't seem to rev as much in D rather than 3rd. Like I said I'm very new to towing with an auto but does that sound about right? By the way it's a 2004 D2a TD5 auto 200k with egr delete and cat removed as far as I'm aware everything else is standard.

if it will tow a ton at 100, locked up in drive,
    you are doing very well.

keep it that way and put a second trans cooler on,,
