No sound file attached? but maybe its the centrifugal filter spinning on shut down that you hear?
I'm hoping that someone can help me diagnose this strange sound upon shutdown. It's quite audible in the attached video. The only other thing that is a bit weird is an occasional tinny sound that I'd assumed was the turbo heat shield vibrating as the 2 rivets on the outside are broken & I haven't gotten around to fixing them yet.

Hi John after listening to it I reckon its the centrifugal filter spinning down on shutdown, put another filter in and see if it goes away. or if you can safely put your hand on it without getting burnt and get someone to switch the engine off and see if you feel the vibration from it.
Most of the time they are quiet, I had one customer ask me once he wanted a noisier one so he knew it was working.
Cheers, Mario
The filter slides over a spindle in the casing , the filter has a brass bush , Might be best to remove the filter and check the spindle is not worn or damaged and it is all in order for peace of mind.
Regards, Mario
Thanks Mario
