Discovery 2 Front Diff Noises
Hi, my front diff makes like and grinding/growling noise when accelerating but stops when the pedal is released, so is the the pinion bearing or the bearing inside the diff?
Where would be the best place in Melbourne to get it rebuilt if needed to?
Thanks

well if i move the shaft near the pinion it moves in all directions, so it looks like the bear is stuffed

I'd take it for a short drive and see what if anything is hot.

The actual pinion moves, has play in it, on an side note can I think the recess with the oil rubber o ring goes has an little damage like scratch marks, would that effect of oil comes out of the pinion Seal?

Drop the front of the shaft and see if the bolt has come loose, if it has just replace the pinion Seal if not rebuild or replace the diff
