    Cool

Usually survive quite well if they have oil in them

True, but they don't hold much.

Unit injector are as good as common rail, just more exxy to manufacture.

Yep, and a bloody sight safer to work on.

Well add a little wish list later.

Now that I'm getting my head around the TD5 and D2 I'm gaining a lot more confidence in it and really enjoy driving it, even if it's a puss box auto.

The L spec R380 was a good 'box and a decent oil cooler with the Ashcroft HD bearing in the extension housing makes a big difference, but it's still marginal behind a big output TD5.

It still shifts a bucket load better than an MT82 too.

My main beef is that they balanced the engine to have a harmonic vibration at 2200RPM.
That is about 100Kmh locked and 70Kmh in third. What are the speed limits in Australia?

It's raining here ATM, which reminds me: a gutter system that doesn't wet the edge of the drivers seat when you open the door would be nice.

It's been a long time between my Disco and the last one i was in, but this one seems to be pretty coarse at idle.
If it isn't engine mounts, the 3.2l Ford engine doesn't have any of the harmonics the TD5 has.
