Fuel tank vent?
Has anyone else encountered or can explain the weird noise I can only describe as ghostly or like microphone feedback for a few seconds a few minutes after switch off???

The wife's Mazda 2 makes a soft buzzing sound for about a minute after turn off.
I did suggest it might be the rubber band unwinding, but The Navigator felt that comment was far too stupid to be true.![]()
Not the noisey little a/c fan, best description is mic/amp feedback, only lasts for maybe 20 seconds but doesn't start till a minute or two after turning it off. I swear I'm not going mad...I have witnesses!!

Maybe the flux capacitor is running through its self-cleaning cycle?![]()
Is it the centrifugal oil separator spinning down? I can just hear mine on a quiet day after shutdown, but sounds more like a far-off jet engine than microphone feedback.
