Thread: D2V8 Headgasket, Timing belt

Hi all, after a looooong absence, I have finally seen the light and returning to the Landrover flock.. 😁😁.
I am looking at a 2000 V8 with 274k on the clock but no idea if the timing belt has been done. Is there a way to check from the outside of the vehicle cause there is nothing in the book. Also there is a tiny coolant weep which looks like its coming from the drivers side rear of engine going down ro the crossmember. Are the head gasket and timing belt a doable job at home, I am pretty confident on the tools.
