I think its it's probably one of the best D2 tourers I've ever seen.

Love that rear door and shelving set up and the hidden JERRY can is genius.

On the inverter note note I think it's got to do with concerns over 240v cables between the inverter outlet and the new outlet chaffing and putting high voltage through the car.

    Im inspired.

    Thanks for posting.

    I.

Thanks fella.......I'm chuffed with the out come, looking forward to setting off in it and seeing how all the mod's fair in the real world. Has taken a lot of work to get to this point with a lot of blood, sweet, tears and cash given to the build but everything has been done by myself and very happy in deed with it....... Also chuffed with the comments from people both on here and facebook!

    Water tank and Battery choice?

    Hi Rosco,

    Great setup!

Which water tank and battery did you go with?

Have a great trip to Darwin and stay off the bitumen!

    Cheers

    Cheers Simon......

I had the 7 seat option so removed them and sourced a 50l under-body style ute water tank that fitted perfectly in the space between the wheelarch where the seat used to be mounted on the drivers side. That was then plumbed in to an RV style filler neck mounted in the roof outside & an RV 12v water pump connected to the door mounted tap.

As for batteries I'm unsure of the make to be honest as has been some time since they went in but they are AGM deep cycle, running 2x 80ah in parallel giving the 160ah as I wanted to have plenty of power in reserve. They are fitted on the passenger, yet again where the seat used to be and I went with 2x 80ah as they fitted perfectly in the same wheelarch gap as the water tank! They are then hooked up to a RedARC dual battery solenoid to charge on the go and also an eBay 20amp solar charge controller with 100w solar panel on the roof for when camped!.... I chose to permanent roof mount the panels from a space & storage point of view and also so batteries have a constant trickle charge as AGM deep cycles like to be kept topped up. I've had an AGM in the past drop a cell before I fitted the solar due to constant drain & recharge cycles, much better for the batteries to be on some kind of trickle charge...
