carefully unclip the brake lines along the firewall , one at a time, use something to keep the modulator propped up , if you have a 4 or 5mm allen bit (it's one of those sizes:-)
the other end of the allen bit is usually 10mm , so that end fits in a 10mm ratchet spanner , if you don't have those tools you could cut down an allen key and use it with 1/4 drive ratchet

I did it in situ as well, remove the plastic clip which holds the lines together and gently lift it as much as you can and put a piece of wood or something under it to hold it lifted, 15cm is enough to work with the allen key ''in blind" , i used a small two way ratchet with the proper allen head attached...as said a bit fiddly but doable

Thanks guys. That's what I figured I'd have to do (upsidedown) was looking for a way to unclip the lower brake line mount by wheel well in hopes to give me a bit more height. I do have the bits and 1/4 drive.

    Buy a 4mm Allen socket for a 1/4" drive.
It fits nicely under there and makes it a breeze.
    Option B all the way...

Yup. Couldn't be bothered going all the way up to Bunnings (if they even have them). So I just cut a longer 4mm hex key down to fit, held box up with one hand and just wound the key. All up took maybe 30 min to do start to finish.

    X2.
Just did option B after 3 years of procrastination. Last five trips, no 3 amigos. Ten trips before that, 3 amigos every time. Was much easier than I was led to believe.
