On an intermittent basis the first start of the day sort of hesitates. This is only on the first start of the day and it only started about six or so months ago.
When I turn the key to start the car for a few seconds I get nothing. No clicks of relays or solenoids - nothing. All of the dash lights come and go as they should - everything works properly apart from the hesitation. If I hold the key in the start position the car comes to its senses and starts OK. The hesitation ranges from less than a second to three or four seconds.
I'm not treating this as a "must fix" item YET but I am curious as to what it could be.
Both keys have new batteries and both keys behave in the same way.
After sitting in the driveway overnight I need to unlock the car with the key and then press the unlock button or else the alarm starts until the unlock button is pressed. When I'm away the unlock button does the job without needing to unlock the drivers door with the key.
Anyone got any clues or should I just call it a "Land Rover Thing" and ignore it?
Cheers,
Mark F...
