    New drive belt.

Hi all, is it possible to replace the serpintine belt on an 02 Discovery Td5 without removing the fan? I dont have a big enough spanner at the min. Cheers Brett

I doubt that it's any different to other vehicle, where you feed the belt around the fan blades to get it on the pulley.

Getting to the idler might be a challenge. May have to thread your spanner/socket wrench through the fan blades. Or maybe have a second person move it from underneath.

Yes it can be done - easier with two people. Last time I had to change mine I had a mate move the tensioner pulley from below as I put the belt on. Make sure you get the belt as far back on the bottom crank pulley - as it has an extra groove in it - if not on correctly it will eventually shred the belt.
