Well with 4x4ing yesterday have my front and rear locker on and CDL engaged the TC was braking the axles and I am wondering if it's to do with an sensor or something else.....
Thanks
In your situation I agree airing down would be overkill.
Most of the tracks I use are very sandy and there are lots of parts with limestone outcrops and quite rocky.
Also I do a lot of beach driving and in WA the beaches can be rather soft so airing down for me is an important part of my off road routine.
Many of the dirt roads I use are also heavily corrugated so airing down and slowing down keeps the comfort level up and helps to stop the truck from rattling itself to bits as well![]()

Front and rear can still spin at different speeds. I would use it. After all, how long would you go on with both front and rear engaged? I only have a rear locker, and I disengage it at the first opportunity. Granted, you drive in conditions completely different to mine.

That's true, I use the rear 95% of the time and this hill was clay and rocky and steep so I used the front and rear and TC was going on and thought that was odd

Yeah Ashcroft air lockers
Is your's facelift? it can happen to be an unbalance between sensor inputs at the same wheel speed especially if the hubs are diffrent brands including cheap ones
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
From what I have read the Ashcroft lockers don't work the same way normal lockers do and the TC is just doing it's job because of the way the Ashcroft lockers work.
I don't have any locking diffs on my D2a and I have No difficulty going places that my Hilux struggles and a lot of cruisers and Nissans have problems.Front and rear can still spin at different speeds. I would use it. After all, how long would you go on with both front and rear engaged? I only have a rear locker, and I disengage it at the first opportunity. With the TC working as it should and the centre diff locked my little D2a is pretty awesome off road even with only 245/16/70 AT tyres on it![]()

Ashcroft air lockers are different to Ashcroft atb , kaaiju , if you have excessive backlash between diff centre and wheel ( axle splines, cv's etc ) if one wheel winds up then let's go it can be enough to bring tc on. This can sometimes happen without excessive backlash without heavy duty axles.
