In your situation I agree airing down would be overkill.
Most of the tracks I use are very sandy and there are lots of parts with limestone outcrops and quite rocky.
Also I do a lot of beach driving and in WA the beaches can be rather soft so airing down for me is an important part of my off road routine.
Many of the dirt roads I use are also heavily corrugated so airing down and slowing down keeps the comfort level up and helps to stop the truck from rattling itself to bits as well [thumbsupbig]
