That's cos the whole ABS system and engine management was calibrated from factory for standard dimension tyres and the closest you are to standard the better the whole vehicle will behave... too many owners dont understand that puitting much bigger tyres the only gain is the ground clearance while the management becomes completely mixed up

Ok I have an 99 model so pre facelift, hubs are all OEM but I think the right front sensor is reading an intermittent fault on the nanocom but the lockers work well, if I need to disable TC I'll just turn the discovery off and TC will be disabled, I don't have HD axles

Do you have the CDL wire cut that runs to the slabs unit? There's a switch mod that allows you to switch it on and off with out shutting down etc, think it's in one of the other post I did (#16)[emoji106]

Which is why it would be so nice to be able to hack the SLABS ECU [bigsad]

Although you do get more than just a ground clearance gain with larger diameter tyres, it's a whole traction thing with a longer footprint too.

I have to do the TC mod with the wire, so can I switch TC on and off with an switch? Like an inline switch?

IMO that's only if the engine management and gearing is addapted to them otherwise it's only a stress on the engine and gearbox, high EGTs, higher engine temps, etc, a step forward to loose motion when its needed more... and what i say is based on many live tests

Besides wheel/axle speed differences, I wonder if the TC brain has a matrix that relates engine speed and gear selection to wheel speed to determine ‘wheel spin’. Would be a pretty rubbery set of figures in an auto though....

No I don't think so as it runs off the wheel hub halls sensor and if the difference is noted then it brakes that wheel, but I have had the whole axle have TC ingaged even though I have locker on.

and as it was explined already few times if the average speed of one axle is diffefrent than the other the TC will interviene to equalise them

So is there any benefit of TC on an axle? Or individual tires are better as wheels are off the ground?
