Thread: D2 TD5 filler neck slow to fill.

    The last 10 litres are supposed to be the air space at the top of the tank to allow for expansion of the fuel as it heats up.
    You are supposed to shut off before then.
    That is why it is slow.
    But like everyone I try to fill it right up on a long trip although if I do that I try to make sure I am immediately driving for a long distance.
    Takes me a while now with 150 litre tanks.

    Disconnected this one when we did the last fill and no difference, so at the least, this one has been eliminated.

    ATM, I'm thinking like sierraferry pointed too .. maybe a blockage at the filler end of the breather system(can't remember if I tried that section).
    And then check for obstructions in the main filler neck/hose assembly.
