(same week) 1 Repco branded battery for my D2(v8) project.

D2 battery cops the most abuse in terms of discharging and length of time between charges.
D1 Aux has copped a bit less abuse(discharge cycles running chiller to below 10v(no cutout, except the chiller finally stops).
D1 starter .. is treated as every other starter battery with it's regular dosage of 14.4v every day till it doesn't need any more .. ie. kid gloves.

One guess as to which battery has started slowly dying in the past week or two!
So would that not mean that by the Tech`s of said Battery that you should be running a Dc/Dc charger one would assume
And your Battery would have been fine in the long term

Really? By whom? Youm? I wouldn't know, as no one will let me in. Wisely, I might add.

I have a pop up camper with its own 100ah battery that is charged by solar when camped and direct by the RRS when travelling. I dont have a dual battery system in the car and when driving, the 150amp alternator is charging the car battery and the trailer battery (running the 3 way and 12v compressor fridge) - no issues.

So I am not sure what the advantage would be having a DCDC charger in the system - the alternator provides more than enough power to keep both batteries charged and run both fridges - the power to the trailer battery from the alternator will be far greater than most DCDC chargers can provide, so I do not really see the need.

As far as AGMs not being able to be charged form an alternator properly, I understand that the starter Calcium battery that was OEM in my RRS has been replaced with a AGM in later RRS and D4s - so the AGM in the later cars must get charged OK.

Things are a little different in my 101 which is 24v. It had an additional 12v alternator on the engine dedicated solely to charging an auxiliary 12v battery. I had a few problems with the alternator mounting arrangement and mud so I am in the process of removing it and replacing it with a 24v - 12v 60amp DCDC charger - is simpler but only time will tell if more reliable - to me this is the only type of arrangement that a DCDC charger has any real advantage.

Must have missed that possible clause in the Terms of Use that may (or may not) have come with the battery.
